Legal malpractice claims not involving fraud or personal torts may be assigned to parties who were not clients of the defendant lawyers, a unanimous state Supreme Court ruled Monday against the wishes of the State Bar of Georgia. Charles Brown (above), who represented the winning party at the high court, dismissed fears that the ruling would lead to more suits against lawyers.
