Judge: Courts should be open

A federal judge in Albany has affirmed the constitutional principle that Georgia courts should be open to the public in an order that allows a suit challenging courtroom closures by judges in the Cordele Judicial Circuit to go forward. Gerald Weber (above), senior counsel of the Southern Center for Human Rights, which filed the lawsuit, calls the ruling "a 'public welcome' sign for Georgia courtrooms."
