Georgia jurists appealed to state legislators at the Capitol Wednesday to boost the judiciary's budget so trial and appellate courts can keep pace with growing caseloads and technological developments. Presiding Justice Hugh Thompson (above) told legislators the judicial branch gets just eight-tenths of 1 percent of the state's budget.
