On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to congratulate Jill Pryor of Bondurant, Mixson & Elmore LLP on her nomination by President Barack Obama to a judgeship on the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.
The nation would be well served on the federal appellate bench by Ms. Pryor, given her 23 years of experience, her exceptional record in business litigation and her "well qualified" rating by the American Bar Association. She is a leader in our state's legal community as a past president of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers and past chair of the Appellate Practice Section of the State Bar of Georgia.
Ms. Pryor's acceptance of this nomination demonstrates her commitment to public service, which in turn serves to promote the cause of justice, uphold the rule of law and protect the rights of all citizens. We wish her well in the upcoming U.S. Senate confirmation process.
