With all due respect,
That is load of nonsense. Of course there is a litmus test. I also am a little confused by the hair splitting between the term "Democrat" and "liberal." The two are synonomous and interchangeable. I don't know of a Democrat who Randy Evans would not also consider a liberal so it is disengenuous for Mr. Evans to write in to "correct" the distinction in an article about political appointments to the judiciary.

Ethical Inquiry
So Deal's previous title as the most unethical and corrupt member of Congress "uniquely" qualifies him to appoint the people who will shape our courts? And thanks for publicly admitting that judicial qualifications are based on agreeing with you politically rather than the quality of the nominee's character and legal work. Judges should not be appointed based on agreeing with you - and barely half the state- politically. You cannot spin your way out of it.
