DeKalb case tests line between sweepstakes and illegal gambling

The boundary between a legitimate sweepstakes and an illegal gambling operation is being tested in DeKalb County Superior Court, where defendants are trying to persuade a judge that they were careful to obey the letter of Georgia's laws. James Kokott, right, owner of Big Dawg Calling Cards, testified before Judge Clarence Seeliger this week that he took precautions to ensure his stores didn't run afoul of Georgia's gambling law.
