A hair-braiding shop will pay about $30,000 in damages to a girl who, at age 5, suffered second-degree burns to her face in a boiling water accident while getting her hair done. Defense attorney Paul Groth of Groth & Makarenko (above) said the girl's injuries initially were severe, but jurors gave her a small amount in part because she made a full recovery.
