ATLANTA (AP) — The trial against accused courthouse gunman Brian Nichols hasn't started yet, but his attorneys are already complaining about the long hours they'll soon face.
Nichols' attorneys told Superior Court Judge James Bodiford on Tuesday they didn't want six-day work weeks during the trial, which is expected to last for months.
Jury selection for the trial is expected to begin on Thursday and Bodiford says to expect 9 1/2 hour work days from Monday to Saturday. But he told Nichols' attorneys that he expects to give the legal teams every third Saturday off.
Nichols is charged with killing four people, including a judge, in a March 2005 shooting spree that began inside a downtown Atlanta courthouse.
